The grooved surface and shape make me think this is a type two trigger. Although the riveted sling swivel looks like the 1873 design, Poyer's book says that rivets and screws were used, adding that "almost all" were riveted during the last two years the model 1884 rifles were produced. There are no discernible inspector's marks inside the bow.
