Based on the appearance of the front barrel band spring inletting and the fit of the nose piece, along with the lack of cartouches, I think the stock may have been refinished or replaced. There is a thin inset in the left side of the stock about halfway between the front and rear barrel bands and there are cuts of two different lengths for the front barrel band spring.
