One of a series that I took to document the metamorphosis of a swallowtail butterfly on my wife's parsley plants in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this one, the caterpillar has chosen a spot for its chrysalis. Note the thread loop from which it is hanging under a sprig of dusty miller.
