Cedar Waxwing Eating Ash Tree Flowers

Cedar waxwing eating green ash (Fraxinus
pennsylvanica) flowers in a neighbor's yard in Southeast Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This ash is a dioecious species polinated by wind. I believe this is a male tree because it has never produced seed. Flocks of these birds show up annually and virtually strip the tree of flowers before moving on.
