Baltimore Oriole

Baltimore Oriole

This oriole - Icterus galbula (female, I think) appeared at my feeders yesterday, only the second time I've seen this species here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This one seemed to know how to tip a hummingbird feeder to sip the sugar water, and (s)he did so repeatedly as I watched through my kitchen window just a few feet away. Interesting to note that the bird I saw last year appeared on 12/26/12 and this one showed up 12/30/13.
