Anhinga Detail
I was almost too close to the bird to get all of it in the frame, but the benefit is in the detail. Note the redish hair-like feathers behind the head--remnants of the beige/bronze ruff visible when the bird is in mating colors. The green particles are duckweed adhering to the bird's feathers as he climbed out of the water. Shot in Maurepas Swamp, Louisiana.
