Juveniles look very different from the adults. This bird was figuring out how to keep his balance while climbing around on the nest tree and working up the courage to jump down off a low branch, which he eventually did, putting an end to his first photo session. Note the partially developed pinfeathers on the underside of the wing and the dark metallic green coloration.
