Wood Ducks

These ducks are shy and hard to approach, so I moved in very slowly, staying in a low crouch or on my knees with my tripod. It took nearly an hour to move the last 50 feet to the edge of this small lake in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The unusual background is a reflection on the water's surface from brightly lit foliage on the opposite shore.

Hey Russ, I didn't know that you were so patient - or, maybe I should say that when you were younger you certainly wouldn't have stalked anything (even a girl) for more than 15 minutes. Great shot. The Woodie is my favorite bird.
